| The function of the Allendale County Development
Board is to encourage the expansion of existing industry and the location of new industry in
Allendale County through the cooperative efforts with municipalities of the county and
organizations having similar aims. It is also the responsibility of the Development Board to establish the lines of communication and work closely with the Chamber of Commerce in Allendale County, Low Country and Lower Savannah Regional Planning Councils, South Carolina State Development Board, South Carolina Planning and Grants Division, all other county, state and federal agencies and organizations that can assist in the economic development program of Allendale County. The Development Board consists of a minimum of seven members and a maximum of nine members appointed by the Allendale County Council.
